About Jay
Hello World!
My name is Jay Astafa. I’m 17 years old and I’m the vegan chef at my family’s small restaurant! I started blogging about two years ago on and off at The Vegan Foodie. Right now I am a culinary student at my local community college. I have plans to go to the Natural Gourmet Institute soon! My family owns a small pizzeria/restaurant called 3 Brothers Pizzeria in Rockville Centre, New York. Last year I decided to create a whole vegan menu for the establishment. Initially, I created the vegan menu because I wanted something vegan to eat when I worked there. My parents never imagined that there would be so many people who would come to our small restaurant for vegan food! Soon so many people found out, even the New York Times! It has been so fun seeing so many happy people dining vegan! I am now in the process of creating updating our vegan menu that will be even better! I created this blog because I wanted people to be able to try my food even if they can’t make it to the restaurant! I will share so many of my recipes and stories about the restaurant!
